What's New in this Version (*071207*) Was previously released as 120707, which is incorrect (year/month/day)

• Added: Congratsmessage property to allow dynamic correct answer messages, next version will have a GUI to edit this.
• Added: Ability to set the time people have the answer the question (30 sec default)
• Change: When manually crediting an answer, it will now be 1 line, instead of two.
• Change: If no one guesses the correct answer, it would default to "The answer 'is' ..." This has been changed, to use 'is' or 'contains'.
• Change: When you /start, it will now display the maximum time per question that is allowed (setable via /setup timers)
• Fix: When picking a new random question, the script was VERY inefficient in doing this. A newer method has been devised, this should eliminate the stack overflows.

• Added: Setable delay so people can't spam answers, by default, only 1 answer every 2 seconds. This can be changed under /setup and then options.
• Added: Ability to hide answers that no one guesses, via /setup.
• Added: !stop for operators of the specified trivia channel
• Added: !score/!scores to have everyone be able to list scores, only once every 60 seconds tops, if someone request as !score list and its under 60 seconds, it will display cooldown to script runner, and to the requester via notice.
• Added: Opt in system so, people who didn't opt-in, wont get any problems from the script. if someone who hasn't opt-in guesses the correct answer, they will be sent a message saying that the answer was correct, but they must opt-in (!play) first
• Added: "No One answered" ghost user, so if no one guesses the answer, the ghost user will get a point. This is used to track questions that no one answers.
• Change: Script will refuse to start if there is a questions/answers mismatch
• Fix: Made sure /correct [username] worked correctly with the new opt-in system.
• Fix: Updated the checkupdate() routine to show new versions when they are released, and be able to show changes in the new version.

• Script now offers something that has been requested a lot. The new term /correct [nick] will now manually credit the answer to [nick] in the channel. This is helpful if [nick] gets close, and you feel like it should be credited [nick].

• Due to the way Mac OSX now operates, you need to type /load itb.app in ircle to get the script loaded, the OS will no longer let me strip the .app portion off the application, sorry!
• Various problems where the question being asked, and the answer not matching has been fixed (hopefully!)
• The default answer of "NO CURRENT ANSWER" was set between questions, as a place holder. If the users tried answering this in between question, the script would error out. This has been fixed (ignores that string in the pubmsg() handler)
• Script now detects if your trying to enter a duplicate question.
• When the user types /endadd it will now check to make sure number of questions and answers are the same.
• Before the last question is asked, it will now display "Last Question..."

• Made it so it shows nicknames instead of a hostname. The script will track via user@host.com still, but it will display nicks when scores display. If the script see's that 2 nicks have the same user@host, it will display both nicks instead of the points. once one clone parts, it will scores will come back as normal. If no one with said host is in the channel a message: hostname is not in channel trivachan. Once they rejoin, there nicks will be shown

Usage:

To add questions and answers without having to edit the script, examples:
/addquestion What color is the sky?
/addanswer ~Blue
/endadd

See that "~" sign? What the indicates is that someone could say "Sky Blue, or light blue" and the answer would be correct. If there is no ~ symbol, then just "blue" would make the answer correct.

Shows the answer to the current question to you, the script runner, but to no one else. When you see the answer come on screen, there is two different ways is can display

[iTB] The answer contains blue or

[iTB] The answer is blue

Obviously, the difference between the two is the presence of a "~" in the correct answer. note, the "~" is just to imply "contains", compared to "is" The "~" will not show up in the answer, nor will the user need to type the "~" You also need to enter a question before you can add an answer, or the script will stop you. You need to /addquestion ... then /addanswer ... When you are done adding all your questions, you should do a /endadd to let the script know you are done adding questions. As the script is, there is 1 preloaded question/answer in it. This is so the script works out of the box. You may remove this question by manually editing the code, which, by the way is free for anyone to use.

When you load the script, it will show you how many questions to have loaded into it. Also, there is a /setup option, which allows you to customize timers for delay after a correct answer, delay after an incorrect answer, and the delay between typing /start displaying of the first question. /setup also allows you to specify how many seconds between displaying the scores.

The script will set its trivia channel and trivia connection in the channel/connection you type /start in. For example, you want to run the trivia in channel #macintosh on connection #1, but your also chatting in channel #undermac in connection 2. You would /load itb.app then type /start in #macintosh, once you do that, you can switch connection, and chat away in #undermac. The script will only display/echo and listen for information in the channel you typed /start in, nifty! You can changed the channel it is locked to by typing in /lock in the channel you want.

You where brought here by the script most likely, and you need some help I'd assume.

If you have directed here by issuing the /setup command, continue to step #3

1. If you haven't already double clicked the itb application, you must do so.

Once you get a dialog stating that it was installed, you can continue to step 2.

2. You need to /load itb.app in ircle to load script. Once you have seen text saying the script is loaded, you can continue to step #3

3. Add a question / answer

Once you have added the answer, you may start another question, repeat until finished. The best way to do this is set up a text file like this, and copy/paste it into ircle"

4. Type /start to begin.

Once you have gotten here, it is automated, it will go through your questions. To setup timers, type /setup and choose "Setup". Note that timers should be setup before /start is issued.
